2017 Yamaha YZF-R1 Colors Released

Today Yamaha leaked some photos of their aesthetic updates to the 2017 Yamaha YZF-R1 line. As someone who is moving up to a liter bike in 2017 this makes me very happy. The 2015/16 R1’s were great but the colors they offered just didn’t do it for me. Sure the 60th Anniversary Yellow/Black speedblock colors are amazing, but I know I’d get bored of them some day. The 2017 Race Blue is almost perfect to this writers eyes. Only thing I would’ve changed is where there is silver, change to white. What would be better than an homage to their MotoGP bikes? The engine case has also been given the murdered out treatment. Some may like that but some may miss the contrast it gives to the bike. Finally the 2017 YZF-R1M finally gets an exterior spruce up as well.

For those looking for an update to mechanical aspects of the bike, we’re sorry to disappoint but there are no reports that we could find. That means no auto blipping-downshifter and the engine remains neutered for those of us living in the USA.

Check out the pics below and let us know which color you fancy the best!
